MODELS & PAGEANT GIRLS:
What would it be worth to you if you could get professional makeup done by a professional artist, your hair done by an award winning hair stylist, have a wardrobe stylist on hand to help you and a selection of designer clothes, dresses and gowns at your disposal to shoot in?
Now, what if you had runway coaches, pageant coaches, image consultants and agency people on hand to help answer questions regarding our industry and what if some of these people were ex Ford & Elite models and have 'been there done that'? Can you imagine the wealth of information tucked away inside of their pretty little heads?
Now that you're all fixed up, what if you had a group of between 6 and 12 photographers to photograph you in these clothes and hand you prints as you're being photographed and what if this went on all day for 2 days?
Suppose we threw in morning snacks, plenty of bottled water and lunch both days. The value of something like that would be thoudands of dollars, especially when you're getting agency quality 4x6 prints and we throw all of this together packaged in a beautiful 100 year old 10,000 square foot studio space in the Crossroads Art District in downtown Kansas City.
The building has 2 huge floors of shooting space, a couple of smaller rooms and a beautiful rooftop patio with a large ceramic tile fountain, bar, tables & chairs, coffee tables, a grill and tropical plants. The top floor is bathed in beautiful, natural light from both North and South facing windows and the bottom floor is more attuned to shots utilizing strobes.
What would all of this be worth to you? How about $199?
*** Ladies & Guys - Please bring some of your own wardrobe to shoot in as well. There will be some beautiful gowns present but you will want a mix of shots.
PHOTOGRAPHERS:
How would you like to be the one to take advantage of all of the tall, beautiful women, and handsome guys, that will be there wearing the designer clothing? Somebody has to shoot it and that somebody is you. There will be a couple of printers on hand printing images for the models so you don't have to go home and go through hundreds of images trying to decide which ones to send them. We will also be doing mini-seminars on Image Editing, Natural light shooting and Studio Lighting for fashion/editorial work. How much would all of this information cost you by going to school? This is accelerated because it's hands on and what you leave with will definitely benefit your photography skills.
All of this is now $249 if you sign up before September 1st, 2009. After September 1, 2009, the price goes up to $329; To take advantage of the Image Editing class, you will need a working laptop and image editing software (Adobe Photoshop).
EVERYONE:
This all kicks off Friday night at 6:00 PM on our rooftop patio with a meet and greet for all who are participating in this event. At 8:00 PM, Flair Fashion Show, presented by Watercolors High Fashion, will take the stage for a night of high fashion. There will be a DJ and after party.
Watercolors High Fashion is looking for models for the fashion show. In order to participate in the fashion show, each model must sell 10 tickets at $15 each to family and friends that will allow them to attend the show. The seller of the most tickets will win a new gown from Watercolors High Fashion PLUS and shoot with Marc Grant Photography, a $1500 prize package. For more information, contact owner, Shelley Wood, at watercolorshighfashion@gmail.com.

Location
The location, Hemingway Studio, LLC, is a 100 year old ex police station/courthouse where Harry S. Truman once presided as a judge. With it's Spanish Colonial architectural style, the 14,000 square foot building, with 14 foot free span ceilings, is listed on Kansas City, Missouri's hirstorical register. The best part is the natural light opportunities found on the upper level thanks to large, single pane windows that line both North and South facing walls.
The downstairs, although not quite finished may be available and if it is, we'll add more to the list of those who can attend and open it up more to strobes because the windows on the main level have been closed in. The entire downstairs is Mexican ceramic tile floor with the bold colors and decor of the tropics.
There are also changing rooms, bathroom facilities, a makeup room and an office with wi-fi. Out back is a rooftop patio off the second floor with lots of ceramic tile and a central water feature. This area is great for shooting swim wear and late evening wear.
If you are wanting to shoot studio lighting, be sure and bring your own lights and other necessary equipment as none will be furnished.
